Fbloc Privacy Policy

Fbloc is a native macOS application designed to help users manage frequently used content. The app allows users to save clipboard text as snippets or URLs, organize, rename, and favorite saved items, copy or open saved content, optionally shorten URLs, and optionally sync data through Apple iCloud (CloudKit).

Fbloc is a menu bar application and does not require user accounts or registration. Product details are available on the Fbloc product page.

Fbloc stores only the content explicitly saved by the user. This may include:

• Text snippets and free-form content
• URLs
• Generated or edited titles
• Favorites and metadata
• Timestamps and modification data

If a user chooses to save content that appears sensitive, such as password-like text, Fbloc displays a warning, allows the user to continue, marks the item as sensitive, and hides it by default in the interface.

Fbloc does not analyze or use this content for tracking, profiling, or advertising.

• The app reads clipboard content only when the user chooses to save it
• The app writes to the clipboard only when the user chooses to copy a saved item

Fbloc does not monitor the clipboard in the background.

By default, all data is stored locally on the user’s Mac. This includes:

• Saved snippets and URLs via Core Data
• Application preferences via macOS system storage

This data remains on the device unless the user enables iCloud synchronization or uses external services.

• Data is stored in the user’s private iCloud database
• Burzcast does not have direct access to this data
• Synchronization is managed entirely by Apple infrastructure

If iCloud is unavailable, the app continues operating in local-only mode.

When the user selects Burzcast Short URL, the app sends the original URL to Burzcast-operated infrastructure to generate a shortened link.

Data involved may include:

• Original URL submitted by the user
• Generated short code
• Timestamp of request
• Standard server and network logs, such as IP address and request metadata

Storage and access:

• Data is stored on Burzcast-controlled infrastructure or trusted providers within the EU or equivalent jurisdictions
• Access is restricted to authorized personnel for operational and security purposes

Retention:

• Shortened URLs may be retained as long as the service is active
• Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational monitoring

Burzcast does not use this data for tracking, advertising, or resale.

• The app sends the original URL and authentication credentials to the user’s own YOURLS instance
• Burzcast does not control or receive this data
• The user is responsible for the security and configuration of their YOURLS server

• Sensitive credentials such as passwords and tokens are stored securely in the macOS Keychain
• Non-sensitive configuration such as server URL, username, and provider choice is stored locally in app settings

Fbloc does not transmit or store credentials outside the user’s device unless explicitly required by the configured server.

When a user adds a URL, Fbloc may request the destination webpage to retrieve its title. This means the destination website receives a request and standard network metadata such as IP address and user agent may be visible to that website.

This behavior is similar to opening a webpage in a browser and is used only to improve usability.

If content appears to be sensitive, such as passwords:

• The app displays a warning
• Recommends using a dedicated password manager
• Allows the user to proceed if they choose

Sensitive items are marked accordingly and hidden by default in the interface.

• Fbloc allows users to enable launch at login using standard macOS system functionality
• No helper application is used
• The feature can be enabled or disabled at any time in Settings

• Include advertising or analytics SDKs
• Track user behavior across apps or websites
• Collect contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera data
• Operate servers that receive user content except where explicitly described above

Retention depends on where data is stored:

• Local data is stored until deleted by the user
• iCloud data is managed by Apple under the user’s Apple ID and retained according to Apple’s policies and user settings
• Burzcast Short URL data may persist while the service is active, with server logs retained for a limited period for security purposes
• Custom YOURLS retention is managed entirely by the user’s own server configuration

• Delete any saved content at any time
• Disable URL shortening
• Switch between providers or disable shortening entirely
• Disable launch at login

No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but reasonable safeguards are in place.
